These past few months, everyone had been buzzing about Rihanna’s much-anticipated makeup line, Fenty Beauty. The singer has signed a deal with the Kendo division of LVMH, the same producer of Kat Von D and Marc Jacobs Beauty. Since then, she has been posting teasers on the brand’s Instagram and Twitter accounts. Rih even wears the products herself on red carpet events–and of course, every beauty junkie has been keeping a close eye, wondering which products from the line have been used.
Now the long wait is over and the secret is out, Fenty Beauty is dropping this month. The pop star gave a peek of her upcoming lip glosses and highlighters in a badass campaign featuring models Slick Woods, Halima Aden, Duckie Thot, Leomie Anderson, and Paloma Elsesser, to name a few. It has been praised for its selection of diverse women, proving that it’s more than just a promo for her beauty line, but ultimately, an ode to and celebration of diversity.
Social media has been raving about the glow on the models’ faces in the campaign video and RiRi has finally unveiled what seems to be a highlighter duo called “Killawatt”, which has two peachy golden shades called “Ginger Binge” and “Moscow Mule”, including another stunning yellow gold eyeshadow called “Trophy Wife”.
Although Fenty Beauty has not posted it yet, it seems like there’s another duo as Sephora took to their account to reveal a second glowy pair of shades named “Girl Next Door” and “Chic Phreak”, which could be an addition to the collection of Killawatt highlighters.
So far, these are the only sneak peeks made available to the vast audience of makeup addicts. The star also answered questions regarding the products, confirming that she’ll be releasing a range of foundations called “Pro Filt’r” that come with a whopping 40-shade selection.
And in true Rihanna fashion, Fenty Beauty decided to hold open casting calls for brand makeup artists in three major U.S. cities. “By opening this up, we hope to build a diverse team of beauty experts who excel in the areas of artistry, elevated education, makeup experience and have an ability to best represent a brand. This non-traditional interview process levels the playing field and allows artists everywhere an opportunity and have their work seen and be considered for a global position for a dynamic new brand,” wrote Erik Soto, Global Artistry & Education Senior Manager for Fenty Beauty’s parent company, Kendo Brands, on Instagram.
With the Barbadian singer being such a great beauty influence, it’s no doubt that Fenty Beauty will be nothing short of incredible, especially with her vision and pursuit of making makeup accessible for everyone.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna will be soon available at Sephora PH on the 9th of September.
