From the tailored executions of Prada, Hermès, and Dior Men to the rockstar looks of the new Celine to the street-ready offerings of Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton and Off-White to the modern take on workwear by Jacquemus, one standout feature is, quite literally, the biggest trend for F/W ’19: pockets.
Oversized pockets seem to be du jour for menswear judging from the recent runway showcases. Whether they’re placed on coats or pants, these functional feature is a welcome addition to the ensembles, making for a practical yet fashionable statement. Pockets are versatile in terms of style as designers easily integrate it into their own brands, making the trend their own. Prada and Louis Vuitton both championed pockets in boxy silhouettes and structured shapes. Hermès presented luxe outerwear with pocket details in colors apt for the season. Dior Men and Celine integrated the trend in their leather pieces, channeling a certain sense of cool nonchalance. Off-White went for off-kilter shapes and sizes and Jacquemus instilled minimalistic energy with his clean lines.
