Seems like Francis Libiran is truly taking his label to a whole new world.
After attending the Golden Globes earlier this year, Francis Libiran has continuously been making a fashion scene in Hollywood. In fact, he actually garbed award-winning actor Darren Criss for his wedding last February.
Francis’ ingenuity to incorporate his signature Art Deco embroidery to Darren’s Barong Tagalog impressed the actor. Because just recently, we saw the Hollywood actor wearing a stunning Francis Libiran jacket at the world premiere of Aladdin.
But if you think that Darren’s stylist pullout this piece from Francis’ collection, it’s not. In fact, according to Francis, “Darren’s jacket is a gift I gave him when he visited Manila last April. [So] I was surprised and honored to see him wear it during the world premiere of Aladdin in Hollywood!”
Following this amazing feat for Francis, another Hollywood star wore his creation and that’s Aladdin’s very own Mena Massoud. In his interview on the Ellen show, he got dapper wearing a Francis Libiran jacket that complemented his monochromatic look.
How did this come about? Francis explained that Mena Massoud’s stylist, Ashley Weston, reached out to his team weeks ago. She asked if the team could custom design several pieces for Mena. The actor will wear these pieces while promoting his movie. “Of course, we said yes and sent her several design options,” Francis shared.
For both of the looks of these sartorial men, Francis explained that he wanted to revolutionize the concept of the bomber jacket. So he veered away from the typical sporty feel and incorporated his signature elements: Art Deco patterns, intricate embroidery, and playful fabric combinations.
Lo and behold, that was exactly what he achieved. Darren Criss and Mena Massoud looked dashingly sartorial in monotone hues. Their pièce de résistance? The exquisite bomber jackets by Francis Libiran.
