In the newly released poster, there are 20 characters featured showing who will be playing a notable role in its last season. From Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, Cersei Lannister, Arya Stark, Sansa Stark and more, all of them were seen sitting on the coveted Iron Throne. But while it may just be a poster to tease all the fans with who can possibly rule the seven kingdoms, the poster may actually have a hidden link to season 1 and how the last season will play out.

Jon Snow has been one of the major characters in the series who has truly had a remarkable character build-up. We’ve seen him progressed towards amassing political power in spite of being an illegitimate child. And in all honesty, it’s not far from impossible that he can become the ruler of the seven kingdoms.

However, a new theory suggests that upon looking closely at Jon Snow’s poster, he seems like he’s shadowing his adoptive father, Ned Stark. Way back before Game of Thrones aired, one of the promo posters featured Ned Stark in the exact same position. And in case you forgot, he died in season one episode nine.

So can this be an omission that the lost Targaryen heir share the same fate as Ned Stark? Unfortunately, we can’t confirm the theory because, after all, to see is to believe. But one thing is for sure, if he dies and gets resurrected again, we won’t be surprised.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will premiere April 14, 2019. It will feature six episodes with longer than usual runtimes.
